Since Bedivere had fled from the Arena, she had been searching for Arthur, with Lamorak, her suitor, following her. They went to another town to get some clues, still, they got nothing.
Bedivere: Didn’t you tell me that you can locate Arthur?
Lamorak: I thought I could get us a lead with the fact that I was once recognized by Mordred but it just didn’t work.
Bedivere: It seems like Mordred didn’t let his subordinate know a thing either. Even so, we can still feel that out. There’s gonna be something as long as we follow the imperial army. Just help me check on them.
Lamorak: That’s easy.
In the middle of the night, Bedivere had a hard time sleeping so she went to practice her sword art on the lawn instead which recalled her memories with Arthur...
In a wooden house of a remote village, a blonde girl flung the door open
Bedivere: Arthur, you’re back early. What’s wrong?
Arthur: Humph! They’re all afraid of me and refuse to play with me. I’m never playing with those kids in the village again!
Bedivere: Did you threaten others that you would beat them up at the least provocation again?
Arthur: I was just roughhousing with them, just like the way you train me.
Bedivere: No, Arthur. Not everybody enjoys knight training. Besides, what have I taught you?
Arthur: ...Power is meant to serve and protect others.
Bedivere: Power isn’t for you to yell or beat others for no reason. Understood?
Arthur: What does “protect” mean?
Bedivere: It’s like… whenever Arthur is in danger, I’ll do whatever it takes to be there for you.
Looking at Bedivere as if she understood what her teacher had said, Arthur abruptly flashed the latter a radiant smile, whereby Bedivere seemed to see King Uther… reminding her of the promise she made to the king.
Suddenly, a yell pulled Bedivere back to reality from memory lane. It was Lamorak, running towards her pantingly.
Lamorak: You’re right. I got some news, A troop of imperial soldiers is heading to the west.
Bedivere’s instinct told her that it must be about Arthur so she and Lamorak set off immediately.
