The Seven Deadly Sins were brought to the realm by a dimensional warp, and Hawk went missing.
As Meliodas suggested splitting up for the search, Gowther acted alone and arrived at a town, where there were full of decorations and partying people. Seemingly a carnival was ongoing.
Gowther: “With the savoury here, there are eighty percent of chances that Hawk would be attracted by the event. Let’s take a look inside.”
Gowther, stepping into the townsquare, went to a townsman as he was intrigued by a bunch of people wearing colourful masks.
Gowther: Why are you all masked?
Masked Townsman: Covering our faces makes the whole thing mysterious and more exciting! Would you like to join our masked ball?
Gowther: “I guess I can learn more about human socialization by hanging out with them? Sounds good. Plus I can gather the intel for Hawk too.”
Gowther: Sure. I’m in.
Masked Townsman: Please have this mask then. Speaking of which, I have something that suits you. That’s gonna make you the spotlight of the town!
The townsman then ran to the stall behind him, where it provided outfits for the guests. He came back with a maroon cocktail dress and put it on Gowther enthusiastically.
Masked Townsman: Wow! Just as I expected, it looks perfect on you! The myth said that this dress belonged to the immortal noble lady!
Gowther listened to the townsman and entered the dance floor. Tripped by the silhouette, Gowther got pulled by a man in a bright yellow suit before he stumbled.
???: This maroon cocktail dress...looks perfect on you indeed, my darling.
???: The pale complexion and the brilliance of the blood red make the most mesmerizing match that never bores me.
Gowther: Have we met before? I don’t know you.
Jack: Imposible...I’m your dearest Jack. How could you forget me, my love.
Tilting Gowther's chin gentlely, Jack ran his fingers in Gowther's hair. All of a sudden, the look on Jack's face changed with no more gentleness.
Jack: No...You're not her. She has ocean blue hair, not pink like you…
Gowther: That's why I said I didn't know you.
Jack: …How dare you fool me by dressing like her…Unforgivable…
In the blink of an eye, a sliver flashed with Jack's movement, slicing across the thin neck of Gowther. Whoosh! Gowther's head was dismembered from his body, which fell onto the ground with the head simultaneously.
Jack: This is the price you paid for fooling me. Become a cold corpse and sleep for good.
The townsmen who witnessed the murder fled in a panic. It only took a few seconds to change the carnival from a bustling place to a deadly silent one. However, a voice broke the silence.
Gowther: My glasses, my glasses…Oh, found it.
Jack: How can you…still move? What are you?
Gowther put his head back to his body，put on his glasses and looked over to the shocked Jack.
Gowther: That's because I'm a doll. I'll be fine even if I get decapitated…Aw, crap. Everyone is scared away. I was gonna ask them if they've seen Hawk.
Gowther: I guess I must ask you then. Have you seen a pig with——Whoa! It's very dangerous to wield a knife out of the blue!
Jack: Don't underestimate me. Not even a doll like you can survive if I butcher you into pieces...AH! That voice again...The voice from my memory...
Moaning in agony, Jack knelt on the ground, bearing the tremendous pain.
Gowther: “Can’t remember...maybe there is something wrong in his memories?”
Gowther: “I wonder what kind of memories could put him in such misery. Let me read them.”
Gowther utilized his ability to read his memories. As Gowther entered Jack’s consciousness, his memories displayed like a movie, showcasing everything he had been through with his lover. At the end, Gowther saw Jack’s lover kill him during a chaos, and his resurrection had shattered his memories.
Gowther: “What a bravo life. I guess the love between him and his lover is what people called star-crossed lovers.”
