In the grand stone chamber, Sacred Cougar was exercising its new body. When it woke up, it had found its claws lengthened and body enlarged. However, it was chained up. Though it was still able to move a little bit, it was confined in a narrow, restricting area.
Though it was said that golems had no emotions, they would still be irritated as they were impatient creatures by nature. Looking at the iron bars and guards, its rage erupted. The chain binding to its hind legs did little to reduce its mobility. It loudly banged its head against the iron bars. Seeing its actions, the guards were alert and held their weapons.
Sacred Cougar kept striking against the iron bars. The noise reached the top of the tower in the Holylight City alarming Griffin, so it flew over to observe the frantic Sacred Cougar. When it arrived, the guards immediately backed off to let it deal with the cougar.
King Griffin: ‘Calm down, guard of Enochian Tower!’
Sacred Cougar: ‘Why am I locked up?’
King Griffin: ‘There is unknown power in your body. We can’t cast it off, so we have to lock you up first.’
Sacred Cougar: ‘I don’t know what power you are talking about! Let me go now!’
King Griffin: ‘Sorry, I can’t do that. It may be some kind of demonic power. I can’t take that risk.’
Sacred Cougar: ‘You really think I can’t escape by myself?’
Sacred Cougar roared loudly; its claws started to emit strong light elements which melted the chains. After breaking the chains, the light elements enveloped the cougar. It smashed through the iron bars and dashed at Griffin –
King Griffin: ‘Calm down!’
Sacred Cougar: ‘Shut up!’
King Griffin: ‘That power will cause you to lose yourself!’
King Griffin: ‘I’ve told you... take a nap now!’
When Sacred Cougar woke up once again, it found itself in a larger chamber, with bulkier and stiffer chains locking it up. After struggling for a while, it realized that it could not break away as easily this time; all it could do now was roar...
Looking up and seeing the wizards, Sacred Cougar shot them with a ball of light elements. The wizards dodged hastily.
Impatient Wizard: You brute! Stop being rude!
Sacred Cougar: Roar!
Sacred Cougar stared at the people who had locked it up. Rage rising, it just wanted to reduce the wizards to ashes.
Impatient Wizard: Quick! If others come, we’ll have no time to do the experiment.
Calm Wizard: We can only start our experiment after subduing this brute!
Impatient Wizard: What are you doing then? Use the hypnotizing spell right now!
The wizards then started chanting the spell. A ray of soft light slowly fell upon Sacred Cougar. The cougar fell slowly before the wizards. Only when it had become completely unconscious did the two wizards walk towards it. They took out a bottle of glittering liquid, poured it on the cougar’s core, then left.
Calm Wizard: Nothing’s happening, why?
Impatient Wizard: Maybe the recipe was wrong?
Calm Wizard: No, it can’t be. I’ve got it from an ancient classic.
Impatient Wizard: Then why doesn't it start transforming after absorbing the potion?
Calm Wizard: Let’s wait for a moment!
Suddenly, Sacred Cougar opened its eyes. It waved its light element-entwined claws, attacking the wizards.
Impatient Wizard: Why isn't the hypnotizing spell working?
Calm Wizard: How would I know?
Sacred Cougar: Roar!
Impatient Wizard: Watch out!
Impatient Wizard: Guards! Guards! Come help, quickly!
Sacred Cougar: Roar!
The guards were all knocked down by Sacred Cougar, while the two wizards ran away helter-skelter. Looking at the chains, Sacred Cougar’ s anger grew increasingly, with its eyes turning bloodshot and power within it wanted to unleash. It kept struggling and roaring, quaking the whole Holylight City. After a long time, it finally stopped; but it could feel that something unusual was going on in its body...
The prison cells of Holylight City were very unusual. They were deep underground. Down the levels, there was a trapdoor between the ceiling and ground of each floor. At the bottom level was Sacred Cougar.
Light Dragon Spiritor II: Do we really have to go?
Agatha the Dragon Maiden: Of course you can choose not to go...
Agatha the Dragon Maiden: But then I won’t teach you anymore.
The boy and the maiden, both with dragon wings and dragon tails, were bargaining with each other. Shortly after, the boy poutingly jumped into the cell, sword in hand. But obviously, Sacred Cougar did not like this newcomer.
Sacred Cougar: Roar!
Kolar: I come bearing no malice. I just want to have a fight with you!
The cougar felt this boy was very strange. When other people saw it, they either broke out in a cold sweat, or simply ran away. But the boy in front was challenging it to a fight... ^ The cougar stared at him and wondered whether he was insane...
Kolar: If you agree to fight, then nod your head! But of course I prefer you not...
Agatha the Dragon Maiden: Ahem!
Kolar: Alright alright! What a garrulous old bag... OK I’ll fight!
Agatha the Dragon Maiden: I can hear you!
Sacred Cougar: Roar!
Kolar: Hey! You don’t need to go all-out!
Kolar: Didn’t I tell you not to go all-out?
Agatha the Dragon Maiden: Are you an idiot? It won’t show you any mercy!
Agatha the Dragon Maiden: Little cougar, I’m sorry that I used you as a punchbag. You remind me of a little lizard that I’ve met before.
Agatha the Dragon Maiden: You brat, come back! You can’t even beat this little cat... Don’t tell anyone you were my student.
Kolar: I didn’t say I can beat it! You're the one who asked me to fight; I didn't say I wanted to.
Agatha the Dragon Maiden: What? Say that again; I dare you —
While arguing, the boy and the maiden opened the trapdoor on the ceiling and jumped up. Having consumed too much of its energy, Sacred Cougar could only watch them leave. Though enraged, it could only suppress its anger as it did not have enough power to pursue them. It was waiting for the next visitor, on whom it could vent all its anger...
Servant: My lord, can you please hypnotize it first? Otherwise it would be very difficult for us to...
Envoy of the Temple: You piece of rubbish!
Right after scolding the servants, the envoy started casting a powerful magic spell. Wrapped in his spell power, Sacred Cougar soon collapsed.
Envoy of the Temple: Rubbish, be quick! It’ll wake up really soon.
Servant: Yes my lord!
The servants pulled the cougar onto a wagon made of iron and used bulky chains to lock it up. Then, the envoy set off on his journey. When the cougar woke, it found itself on the wagon. Its ferocious roar frightened the horses into a panicked struggle. The envoy swore quietly and cast his spell again; the cougar fell into a coma again. When it woke up for the second time, it heard the conversation between the envoy and an old ascetic.
Old Ascetic: Let’s start. I know what you’ve come for.
Envoy of the Temple: Since you already know what I want to say, I'll cut to the chase.
Old Ascetic: It seemed that no mythological beast can escape tragedy.
Envoy of the Temple: The mythological beasts were born from chaos brought by Gods. But in the end, ferocious beasts shall be exterminated by the power of Humans.
Then, he unlocked the chains on Sacred Cougar. It could finally vent its anger, and it saw Baihu glowering at it. Simultaneously, they roared at each other and dashed towards each other.
Envoy of the Temple: Ascetic, no matter how tamed the mythological beast seems,
Envoy of the Temple: there would still come a day when it would attack you.
Envoy of the Temple: This mechanical golem can withstand any attack without pain or harm.
Envoy of the Temple: Baihu, on the other hand, could bleed and would die.
Envoy of the Temple: Why are you...
Envoy of the Temple: Protecting Baihu with your own life?
In the chaotic battle, the Sage of the West, with his own life, stopped the Sacred Cougar’s attack. The raging cougar shifted its target to the Sage of the West, overlooking the beast. Baihu seized the opportunity to strike right at the cougar’s core, knocking it down. With all its power exhausted, perhaps, the guard of Enochian Tower finally collapsed. When Baihu left, two figures walked out from the shadow...
Illuminated Savant: Come! Poor child! Be my tool, and I will grant you new power!
Illuminated Savant spoke to himself, with a shiny Runestone in his hand. As it had before, the light elements around wildly surged into the Runestone. He stuffed it into the body of the cougar. After a while, the cougar stood up.
The cougar roared to the silhouette behind the Savant and lunged forward in a tackle.
