【Beginning】
Ra was born into a wealthy family. His father was a man of power in the city who cared much about his reputation. He was delighted when he first knew of his wife’s pregnancy; he even ordered the construction of a brand new mansion just for the baby. Yet, when his baby was born, he felt as if a real-life nightmare had descended upon him...Not only did the baby had parched skin, it even had a stubby tail!
The tycoon was appalled to see his son born a monster. He ordered the baby disposed, and proclaimed to the outside world that his baby passed away at birth.
The old manservant, having received the order, laid down the baby in a bush of a forest. Just as he was about to leave, the baby’s sudden wail halted his steps. In the end, he could not bear leaving the infant behind and hence, turned to take it with him. He brought it back to the mansion’s wood-shack, planning to raise it himself.
The old manservant named the baby “Ra” and educated him on different subjects and values. He always said to Ra, “It doesn’t matter if people bully you or ostracize you because of your appearance; do not hate yourself or those people. Stay kind, and the skies shall look after you.” Because of this, Ra believed there was a God who guarded over the realm. As long as he performed good deeds, that God will bless him.
Time passed, and Ra grew. He became increasingly curious about the world outside the wood-shack. Therefore, he sneaked out of the shack when the old manservant was distracted...
【Before Battles】
- Ra: What is this place? It’s beautiful...
- Maid: Mo...Monster!
【Enemy Dialog】
- Ra: What’s wrong? Why are you running from me?
- Maid: Help! You monster! Don’t come any closer!
- Ra: ‘Looks like Poppy was right...Everyone would run from me because of my appearance...’
【End】
Hearing the maids’ screams, the tycoon and his wife came, and were shocked at the sight of Ra. A single glimpse told the tycoon that this “monster” was his abandoned baby...
- Tycoon: Im...Impossible! Why are you still here, monster? You, you should have long been dead!
Just then, the old manservant arrived too. He immediately stepped between Ra and the tycoon, begging his master not to hurt Ra.
- Old Manservant: I am sorry, Master. I could not bear watching the poor baby abandoned...
- Old Manservant: I was the one who took him in and raised him. If you want someone to blame, let it be me!
This news enraged the tycoon, and thus, he deemed the old manservant traitorous. Believing what happens once shall happen twice, he banished the manservant along with Ra. The pair’s days became much more difficult.
- Ra: It’s all that man’s fault! I’m never going to forgive him!
- Old Manservant: Do not...hate...Learn to...forgive. Then...the skies will...look after you...
Not long after, the aged manservant passed away from a severe illness caused by overexertion. Although this left Ra without companionship, the lessons the old manservant taught remained ingrained. Therefore, he relinquished hatred towards his own father, and lived life with a grateful heart.
