Several God Soldiers pulled a petrified body from the abdomen of a primordial god with every bit of their strength.
God Soldier: Is he still alive?
Thunderous Supremacy - Zeus: All my brothers are blessed with remarkable vitality.
God Soldier: It looks like an ordinary statute.
Thunderous Supremacy - Zeus: Nonsense!
The statute suddenly moved and the trident seemed to be alive. As the statute thrust the end of trident to the ground, he rose and stood up slowly. The soldiers around lost their balance and fell ince the ground was shaken.
It seemed that Poseidon could not hear Zeus. He waved his trident and a few soldiers were blown away. The rest of the soldiers retreated and Zeus could only step forward.
Thunderous Supremacy - Zeus: The pneuma in your body is still fluctuating!
Thunderous Supremacy - Zeus: Calm down! You’ve only just woken up!
Thunderous Supremacy - Zeus: Hold your breath. Feel the pneuma within.
Poseidon: Who are you? And who am I?
Thunderous Supremacy - Zeus: Stop. I’m your brother.
Poseidon, God of the Sea: I don’t recognize you.
Poseidon was born with tremendous pneuma. His father feared him for he may become a threat to his throne after he had grown up, so he swallowed Poseidon. When Zeus pulled Poseidon out from their father’ s body, Poseidon was already fully grown. He opened his eyes lazily like a statute asleep for centuries, feeling for the first time the body he had never used.
Unlike other Gods, Poseidon never went through childhood where he was weak and feeble. His body reached maturity before he ever stepped onto the ground. Massive pneuma overflew Poseidon’s body, yet Poseidon never had the chance to learn the way of imprisoning his pneuma. Instead, he was dominated by the power that was attached to him since birth. His pneuma radiated out wildly, asking him to conquer everything on the realm.
Poseidon could not stabilize his pneuma. Zeus never assigned any duties to Poseidon for he was worried by Poseidon’s power. Indignant at the way he was treated in addition to his overflowing pneuma, Poseidon was craving for a way to vent his anger. He challenged Zeus time after time, because he considered himself a more appropriate candidate for the supremacy of heaven as the elder brother. Zeus had tried to be tolerant, but was finally enraged by Poseidon’s goading. During a feast, Zeus exiled Poseidon to the realm of man in the presence of other Gods, and bestowed him with the title of “God of Sea”.
The blue sea, with abyssal depths, was a crisis for Poseidon. Though having a title that says otherwise, Poseidon had no actual authority in the sea. Without his legs, he could survive in the ocean despite difficulty; however, if he would like to be the genuine ruler of the ocean, he must convince all creatures in the sea to bow to him. Yet, as an outsider Poseidon was not welcomed...
Raging Sea Elf: The Great Cthulhu is our lord.
Glacier Gnome: He is the one and only ruler of the ocean for all time.
Poseidon, God of the Sea: How curious.
Poseidon, God of the Sea: An ancient deity from the realm of man is actually a sedentary beast...
Again and again Poseidon stabbed Cthulhu, yet he never managed to defeat it completely. It slightly opened its eyes in response to Poseidon’s attacks, and would regenerate its tentacles whenever it has been wounded. The indigo blood spurted out of its wounds spilled on Poseidon’s lame leg, causing tentacles to grows. As Cthulhu closed its eyes again in slumber, Poseidon was inundated with Cthulhu’s power, with its blood as a medium. The power of Cthulhu and Poseidon created a balance inside him, and the creatures of the ocean were in awe.
At dusk, the maiden and her friends were entertaining themselves by picking seashells on the shore. As the sky grew dark, her friends hurried home, leaving her wandering on the beach alone. In the dark, she could see someone floating on the water, but not how he looked. She stepped towards the sea to talk to him.
Maiden: It’s getting dark. Aren’t you coming up?
Poseidon, God of the Sea: I live in the sea.
The man flipped into the sea and swam around under the water before he showed up again. The maiden applauded to have him do it once more. Though the sea was still gleaming, it was already night and the sky already grew dark.
Poseidon, God of the Sea: Shouldn’t you go home?
Maiden: I will become a priest in the future.
Maiden: So I must explore every inch of the land even at night.
The man remained silent for a moment and told the maiden.
Poseidon, God of the Sea: Then come to the shore often.
Poseidon, God of the Sea: I can tell you everything about this fierce monster who lives in the sea.
Before she became a priest, the maiden had spent a lot of time inspecting the peninsula. She went to the mountains to hunt with the hunters. When she helped harvests in the farm, she would also go to the shore and learn about the lives of fishermen. During weekends, she came to the seaside at dusk. The man would tell her stories about the ocean. Her habit of going to the shore remained unchanged until the year she became a priest.
Maiden: If I become the priestess of the God of the Sea,
Maiden: I can pray to him for the calm seas.
Maiden: If I become the priestess of the Goddess of Wisdom,
Maiden: I can pray for bountiful harvests.
Maiden: Whose priest should I be? Do you have any idea?
The man, whose upper body was on the water, did not answer her question. Instead, he told her a story about a warrior.
Poseidon, God of the Sea: I know a warrior who was born with godly power.
Poseidon, God of the Sea: He thought he could be the king of all kings.
Poseidon, God of the Sea: He challenged every single lord he had seen.
Poseidon, God of the Sea: And went through countless battles.
Poseidon, God of the Sea: He craved everything.
Poseidon, God of the Sea: Standing in front of the king of all,
Poseidon, God of the Sea: the warrior challenged him to a final duel.
Poseidon, God of the Sea: Though the warrior defeated the king, the king had cut his legs off.
Poseidon, God of the Sea: Everything comes with a price.
Poseidon, God of the Sea: Yet the ocean swallows everything.
Poseidon, God of the Sea: I believe fate will offer you an answer.
Suddenly the man recalled his battle with Cthulhu, he hummed a weird tune. After the maiden had listened to the tune, she tried to harmonize with the melody on her way home. As the man heard her voice, he returned to the sea.
Poseidon was waiting inside the sea, but the maiden never came. He guessed she must have chosen the Goddess of Wisdom. If she didn’t, a message would be sent to his temple. He returned to the deep sea and never went to the shore at dusk. The fishermen were the only ones who would inform him what happened on the land.
Fisherman: Poor girls, becoming priestess at such a young age!
Fisherman: I heard one of the newcomers was put to death by the goddess.
Fisherman: She deserved it! She sang an demonic tune in the goddess’ temple!
Poseidon returned to his temple to gather his soldiers.
Soldier: No, we cannot anger the goddess. She is the daughter of Zeus!
Poseidon, God of the Sea: I am the elder brother of Zeus.
Soldier: But, you are...
Poseidon, God of the Sea: Shut up!
Poseidon, God of the Sea: Tell my priest, that the goddess’ temple shall be flooded tomorrow.
Poseidon, God of the Sea: Medusa!
Poseidon, God of the Sea: Who turned you to a gorgon?
Medusa the Dreaded: Please, end my life!
Poseidon, God of the Sea: Back off. I shall inveigh against Athena.
Poseidon, God of the Sea: Athena, she is only a mortal. Is such a curse necessary?
Athena, Goddess of Wisdom: She is my priestess. This is my way of handling this.
Poseidon, God of the Sea: What sin has she committed?
Athena, Goddess of Wisdom: She hummed a demonic tune, blaspheming the Gods!
Poseidon, God of the Sea: A demonic tune? That’s... when I...
Athena, Goddess of Wisdom: We shall call it a day. You can take Medusa with you.
Athena, Goddess of Wisdom: The mortal shall have nothing more to do with me.
Poseidon, God of the Sea: You’re wrong if you think this will solve anything, Athena.
Poseidon, God of the Sea: Vengeance won’t stop...
Poseidon, God of the Sea: until the land is swallowed by the ocean!
