Virtual Rebirth (VR) is the next stage of evolution after Power Release. Cards that have undergone VR will be able to freely switch between 2 forms, a process called Power Alternation.
For a list of Cards in Virtual Rebirth form, see Card Search (apply VR filter under Misc category).
Mechanics[]
In order to undergo Virtual Rebirth, one has to:
- Acquire the required materials.
- Complete its VR stage (using only the card to be VR-ed).
- Stage can be entered without having the card be at max level.
- Revival is possible with Diamonds.
- Half of the stamina used will be returned if the stage fails.
- Alternatively, use a Fluorescent Python to skip the battle.
- Not applicable for Crossover Characters, and non-Diamond Seal Characters.
There are a variety of options to choose from when preparing the required materials. Other than the standard Evolve materials, players may also choose to use a duplicate of itself in any rarity incarnation. For example, the following are the possible options for Lamentable Clairvoyant - Cassandra:
Materials used | Evolution | Battle required |
---|---|---|
Materials | Yes | |
Self duplicates | ||
Python | No |
The VR material to be used will depend on the card's race, and whether it is a Crossover card:
Card type | VR material | ||||||
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Human | God | Beast | Dragon | Elf | Demon | Machina | |
Normal | |||||||
Crossover |
Materials can be acquired from a variety of sources, e.g., from rewards, the Black Hole, Train Up stages, and more. Listed below are some examples:
Materials | Stages |

Power Alternation[]
After completing its VR, a card may alternate between 2 forms: Refinement and Divergence. The Refinement form is usually an upgrade from its pre-VR form, sharing the same artwork, whereas the Divergence form introduces a new play style and artwork. As a result, the Refinement and Divergence forms are sometimes referred to as OVR (Old VR) and NVR (New VR), respectively.
Power Alternation is done from the Character Inventory menu. After alternating, the card stays in its other form in the Inventory, until it is alternated again (there is no limit to the number of times it can be alternated).
